The Franciscian Missionary Sisters of Our Lady of Sorrows host the annual vocations discernment retreat for the Archdiocese of Portland. The retreat is designed for men discerning a call to the priesthood. The weekend provides discerners quality time with the Archbishop and the Director of Vocations for prayer, Holy Mass, Confession and conversations about the priesthood and religious life.
One of the young men had this to say about his experience:
"Attending the Archbishop's Priesthood Discernment Retreat held at Our Lady of Peace Retreat House has not only been strengthening to my vocation but it provided me with the right space and environment to do that. Coming together with other men, sharing the same vocation and direction, is rewarding. The Sisters and volunteers at Our Lady of Peace were very welcoming, friendly and attentive to the needs that my brothers and I had during our stay for the discernment retreat. Please pray for the Sisters so that they can continue to do the wonderful work that they do in the community and support them."
