Mission

A Franciscan sacred place, where you are welcome to pray and rest in Christ’s love and joyful peace, then go and live the Gospel

History

Through the benevolence of Divine Providence, and with the assistance of the Franciscan Fathers and others, The Franciscan Missionary Sisters of Our Lady of Sorrows were able to open Our Lady of Peace Retreat House in the Northwest, Beaverton, Oregon, USA in 1953. The first group of retreatants was on June 25th, the Feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. On that Friday evening, Sister Mary Agatha, Superior, and Sister Mary Jane stood at the front entrance of the Retreat House, waiting with happy anticipation to greet the first group of retreatants.

A retreat is like a spiritual spa for your soul. It is a time of special graces! It is your spiritual home away from home where you can be alone with God and experience for yourself God's awesome love and peace.
